Hi Mindy,

I wasn't aware of that. eBay advertising for websites dedicated to selling fake jewelry. Can't say I'm wholly shocked by it though; seems like every mass-suspension that comes on the heels of the faintest whisper of a law suit does nothing but drive legitimate sellers to pull their hair out while these people who sell fakes just open another account and go at it again.

I can see where eBay, with it's mammoth size and rapid growth, can have trouble with quality control but it's really disappointing that no one at eBay has figured out that what they're trying isn't working.

And allowing these people to pay for advertisements sets such a negative image that sellers and buyers are open ground for harassment and fraud so long as it doesn't drag down eBay's bottom line.

Best,
Marc

Hi Diane's Son :) It is so irritating about all the fakes out there; I'm fairly educated about 'em, and have collected Tiffany for a few years, and I've still been fooled a few times on ebay! What totally annoys me, is that on ebay, as I'm browsing through the Tiffany listings, at the bottom of the page are 'Sponsored Links' (Sponsored Links allow advertisers to bid for ad placement order based on specific search keywords). Anyway, these links are for FAKE Tiffany sites! But, to a novice, they look real; like "Tiffany & Co Jewelry %50 off" is one. I mean, come on! So when unaware buyers click the link, they are taken to the sponsor's website, where they can buy fake jewelry. So irritating. Take care Marc! Mindy
