I could understand being annoyed about getting offers for less than an item is worth on scrap but what about those type of sellers that have outrageous prices on the items to begin with? I love collecting Tiffany sterling jewelry but I find it pretty aggravating to see second-hand items (as anything is when it was owned by someone else first) being sold for more than Tiffany's sold it for to begin with! Also sterling sells for pennies when you try selling it to a jeweler for scrap so I think offering even full retail price on a sterling piece is more than fair but some sellers on bent on being greedy I guess.
